The Real Top 30 Pokemon

30. Oddish

Grass/Poison

This little weirdo is like a little seed guy. And is pretty cute. And it evolves (eventually) into Vileplume. If you evolve it into Bellossom, you're part of the problem.

29. Flygon

Ground/Dragon

That other list got this one right.

28. Yamper

Electric

Gen 8 had its issues, but introducing a lightning corgi was not one of them.

27. Tinkaton

Fairy/Steel

It's cute and whacks stuff with a giant hammer. What's not to like?

26. Sneasel

Dark/Ice

Sneasel is a... snow? weasel? Idk but it's dark type too which is cool since dark type was new in gen 2 and, despite that, there weren't very many dark types in gen 2. Dark/ice is a cool (heh) combo. And weasels are funny.

25. Morpeko

Electric/Dark

Part pikachu, part gremlin. Morpeko changes moods and forms depending on how hungry it is. That's fun and electric/dark is an interesting type combo.

24. Shedinja

Bug/Ghost

Shedinja is one of the most unique Pokemon. Period. You can't catch it. It doesn't evolve from anything. You can only get it if a Nincada evolves into Ninjask AND you have an open slot on your team at the time. Shedinja is the shed shell leftover from Nincada's evolution. If that wasn't cool enough, it has only 1 HP and a special ability that makes it so that only supereffective moves can hit it. And it's bug/ghost type which is a dope af type combo.

23. Toxtricity

Electric/Poison

Electric/poison is a pretty unique type combo. And it has cool mechanics, changing between a low-key form and amped up form.

22. Annihilape

Fighting/Ghost

Gen 9 did some weird stuff with variants of gen 1 Pokemon. But I liked that they gave Primeape from gen 1 an evolution after all this time. And a cool ghost type with unique type combo at that.

21. Mega Gengar

Ghost/Poison

Everyone thinks Gengar is so cool but he's just a pudgy weird ghosty boy. That changes when it mega evolves however. Mega Gengar looks cool af.

20. Galvantula

Bug/Electric

It's an electric spider. That's awesome.

19. Sableye

Dark/Ghost

Fucking look at it. It's dope.

18. Krookodile

Ground/Dark

Joe thought this one was weird on another list we shared some time ago. Little did he know he was clowning on a king.

17. Trevenant

Ghost/Grass

Ghost/grass is something we don't have a lot of. And look at it. It's dope.

16. Salazzle

Poison/Fire

Poison/fire is a pretty unique type combo. And only female Salandit can evolve into Salazzle and I'm a sucker for unique evolution mechanics.

15. Klefki

Steel/Fairy

When I first saw Klefki years ago I thought "Really? A Pokemon that looks like a ring of keys? They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for Pokemon designs." But then I learned that Klefki doesn't look like keys, it's steals and collects them and I thought that was kind of adorable and I've loved it ever since.

14. Dragapult

Dragon/Ghost

Yet another ghost type, this time combined with dragon. Which is just cool.

13. Mimikyu

Ghost/Fairy

That other list got another one right. Mimikyu is great. It's cute, it has interesting mechanics, it pokes fun at the fact that Pikachu is the most popular Pokemon. It's ghost/fairy type which is whimsical and fun. 10/10.

12. Delphox

Fire/Psychic

I know Delphox just looks like a furry that they imported into a Pokemon game. I do think it would be cooler if it walked on 4 legs instead of 2. But fire starters desperately needed a change after 3 back-to-back generations of fire/fighting types and they finally got it in gen 6 with fire/psychic. And Delphox looks like a witch/wizard which is cool.

11. Ceruledge

Fire/Ghost

Fucking look at it. It's dope.

10. Garchomp

Dragon/Ground

That other list got this one right, too.

9. Swampert

Water/Ground

Everyone knows Mudkip is the best gen 3 starter. Everyone. Water/ground is such a dope type combo. It covers a lot of type matchups and it nullifies water's biggest weakness since ground takes no damage from electric-type moves. Swampert is king fight me.

8. Kyurem

Dragon/Ice

By far the best of the Gen 5 legendary dragons.

7. Lunala

Psychic/Ghost

A psychic/ghost type based on moon imagery/language? Yeah I was never not gonna like this one.

6. Mega Mawile

Steel/Fairy

Regular Mawile is fine and all but Mega Mawile is better in every way. Even though fairy type didn't exist until gen 6, steel/fairy is a cool combo. And just look at this thing. It's ready to fuck some shit up.

5. Zoroark (Hisui)

Normal/Ghost

Specifically the Zoroark from the Hisui region. Regular Zoroark is meh. Normal/ghost is such a weird type combo since it's immune to both types of moves.

4. Chandelure

Ghost/Fire

Do I have a thing for ghost types? Yes. Do I give a shit? No.

3. Darkrai

Dark

This one is the edgelord's pick. Well, I guess I'm an edgelord. Darkrai is cool looking, his lore is dope, and he's a mythical pokemon so he's nearly impossible to get legitimately. What's not to like?

2. Mega Banette

Ghost

"Ooh another mega evolved ghost type, real original" stfu nerd. Look at this thing. It's dope af. It's a monotype which I don't typically like on my teams. But Mega Banette doesn't give af. It's that dope.

1. Mismagius

Ghost

I know it's a monotype. I know it's not the most powerful or the most rare. I don't care. I love the design of this pokemon. It's ghosty, it's witchy, it's perfect.
